Conformance
Colour to be typically green to dark green as fresh product. Leaf used for milling, to be free from signs of rub, fungal infections, botrytis, EVM and all foreign bodies. Contamination of any kind will NOT be acceptable; this includes – chemicals, metal, insects, insect parts or chrysalids, grit, soil or stones.
Preparation
Product is to be suitably decontaminated by washing, Blanching, chilled, and frozen, by the supplier, milled to 1-2mm and to be packed in clean sound food grade packaging. The product must pass metal detection tests.
Frucom will require details of the process HACCP including metal detection sensitivities prior to commencing supply.
The product is to be processed in accordance with UK / EU legislation.
Storage & Shelf life
Store at –18°C. or below, ideal storage should be at –20°C. Avoid storage with strongly flavoured materials, or with materials that absorb flavours readily. Shelf Life at these temperatures is 24 months. Minimum 6 months on delivery. Once opened, the remaining material should be returned to cold storage of –18°C (or below) as soon as possible in order to retain product quality.
Packaging
Inner – Blue tint food grade bag, heat sealed or folded (depends on customer requirement)
Outer – Food grade box, printed with supplier information. Self-adhesive blue tape closure.
